Firearms Training
Nashville & Middle Tennessee

Professional firearms training in a private destination training environment, located approximately one hour south of Nashville.

AFI Is Expanding to Tennessee

Adaptive Firearms Institute (AFI) is preparing to bring our established firearms training programs to Shelbyville, Tennessee, serving students throughout Nashville, Middle Tennessee and the surrounding region.

Founded in 2008, AFI provides professional firearms instruction for responsible armed citizens, law enforcement officers, military personnel, private organizations and students seeking to develop practical, real-world firearms skills.

Our Tennessee location represents the next evolution of AFI training: combining our progressive firearms curriculum with a private rural property capable of supporting training experiences that simply are not possible at a traditional commercial shooting range.

Tennessee course dates and registration will be announced as the new training location becomes operational.

A Private Tennessee Training Facility

AFI's Tennessee training will be conducted on private property at Firebrand Ranch in Shelbyville, Tennessee.

The approximately 250-acre property provides AFI with something we have wanted for years: the ability to develop a dedicated training environment around the curriculum rather than adapting the curriculum to the limitations of a public or commercial range.

Existing facilities include a long-range shooting area with steel targets extending to 750 yards and a 50-yard tactical training range with barriers, target systems, training vehicles and other instructional features.

The property gives AFI room to continue developing specialized training areas as our Tennessee program grows.

Firearms Training for Every Experience Level

AFI courses are designed as a progressive training system. Students can begin by developing strong fundamentals and continue through increasingly advanced applications as their skills and experience grow.

Planned Tennessee firearms training will include:

Real Training for the Real World

AFI training goes beyond simply learning how to shoot.

Our curriculum emphasizes efficient weapon manipulation, biomechanics, recoil management, movement, decision-making, problem solving and the ability to apply learned skills under increasingly realistic conditions.

Whether you are purchasing your first handgun, developing practical defensive skills, training professionally, or progressing into advanced low-light and night vision applications, AFI provides a structured path for continued development.

Serving Nashville & Middle Tennessee

Located in Shelbyville, Tennessee, AFI's future Tennessee training location will be approximately one hour south of Nashville and within reach of students throughout Middle Tennessee.

The location will serve students traveling from Nashville, Murfreesboro, Franklin, Columbia, Spring Hill, Tullahoma, Manchester, Shelbyville and surrounding communities.

With on-property accommodations planned as part of the experience, students traveling from farther areas of Tennessee and neighboring states will also be able to make AFI training a multi-day destination rather than simply a day at the range.
